Find Burlington County Inmates

A Burlington County inmate search starts with the county jail roster, which lists people held in custody by the Department of Corrections. Most people who run a Burlington County inmate search are trying to confirm that a person is in jail, check a bail amount, or find out where someone is held. The roster lets you look up a person by name and shows a short set of fields. Jail records also tie into mail, money, visiting, and bail, so each of those has its own rule set. Knowing what the roster shows, and what it leaves out, keeps your search realistic and points you to the right phone line when you need more.

Burlington County Inmate Search Fields

The search form is simple, and so is the result table. You enter a name, and the roster returns list-level columns. The table below lays out the fields the official page exposes.

Field LabelTypeNotes / Format
Last NameTextSearch by last name; a blank search shows the roster list.
First NameTextSearch by first name, usually with the last name.
NameResult columnLast, first, middle or initial format.
Jail IDResult columnNumeric or alphanumeric, such as 117210 or W08666.
FacilityResult columnBurlington County Detention Center or Atlantic County.
Bail AmountResult columnCurrency where applicable; blank if none is shown.
Estimated Release DateResult columnDate where available; blank otherwise.

A blank bail or release field does not mean none exists; it only means the public roster did not display one in that row.

What a Burlington County Inmate Record Shows

The public roster is a thin record by design. It confirms custody and a few basics. It does not show charges, an arresting agency, a mugshot, a housing pod, a court date, or a warrant number in the text view. The inventory below maps each visible field to what it tells you.

FieldWhat It Shows
NameThe detainee's name as booked.
Jail IDThe booking identifier for the person.
FacilityWhere the person is held.
Bail AmountA list-level bail figure, not a full bond ledger.
Estimated Release DateA projected date that can change.

Note: charges and mugshots are not on the public Burlington County roster, so treat any site that claims otherwise with caution.

Calling for Inmate Information

When the roster cannot answer your question, the phone can. The inmate search page lists 609-265-5993 for further inmate information. That line is for general inmate questions. Keep it separate from the bail line, which is a different office with a different job.

If a person does not appear in the roster, they may have been released, transferred, or removed for another reason. Call before you assume. The bail line and the inmate-information line are run by different staff, so use 609-265-5801 or 609-265-5802 for bail questions and 609-265-5993 for everything else about a detainee.

Booking, Bail, and Release Checks

Bail is set by the court, and the amount can change as charges arrive from other jurisdictions. The posting-bail page says a warrant check runs before a current lodged bail is posted, so call the Records Office first at 609-265-5801 or 609-265-5802 to confirm charges and the total. Cash bail can be cash, a U.S. postal money order, or a certified or cashier's check, and all bail money requires exact change.

Burlington County Jail Visiting Rules

The jail offers both contact and non-contact visits. Contact visiting is a privilege, not a right. After 90 days in custody, an inmate may request contact visits, and administration reviews the file before approving. No one under 18 may visit unless the inmate is the child's parent and an adult parent or guardian brings the child.

State and Federal Inmate Searches

The county roster only covers county custody. For a state prisoner, use the NJDOC offender search. For a federal inmate, use the Bureau of Prisons locator. For custody-status alerts, VINELink can notify you of a change.

Those tools, plus release verification steps, are covered on the released inmates page. For jail population data, see the inmate population page.
